Cyprus-based company Kostas A Zacharia has opened a meat processing and freezing plant in the northern Serbian town of Indjija, the municipality of Indjija said.
The 3,600 square metre plant is already operational and by the end of September it will reach its full capacity, employing 110, the municipality said in a statement on Wednesday. The company will make the new plant a regional hub from where it plans to deliver its products throughout the region. It also bought a land parcel in Indjija where it plans to build next year a freezing facility that will employ 50 additional workers. No financial details were disclosed.
